Mischa Barton facing foreclosure on Beverly Hills home

Actress Mischa Barton is at risk of losing her California home after bank officials filed foreclosure papers.

The former The O.C. star has reportedly fallen $100,000 behind on payments on the $4.2 million mortgage she has for the property in Beverly Hills, according to TMZ.com.

Barton purchased the home in 2005 for $6.4 million and has been trying to sell the mansion since 2010.

Last year (13), she put the house up for rental for $35,000 a month, but she has not been able to lease it out.

Bank officials have now filed default documents, which have triggered the foreclosure process.
