Ming-Na Wen knocked out teeth in TV stunt

Actress Ming-Na Wen suffered for her art on the set of Marvel's Agents Of S.h.i.e.l.d. after knocking her teeth out when a stunt went awry.

The former ER star plays tough secret agent Melinda May on the TV action series, based on the Marvel comic books, and she reveals she forced herself to soldier on after recently losing some teeth during a fight scene at the end of a long day.

She says, "There's nothing tougher than putting in a 16, 17 hour day. I had to do a scene where I had to fight myself. It was a May versus May fight and it was an intense scene. I had to learn both sides of the fight, it's really late into the night...

"It was just one of those things where I didn't duck in time and the stunt person kind of clocked me in the head and my teeth clattered together and next thing I know, I was doing one of those Rambo kinda things (spitting her teeth out)."

Wen subsequently underwent dental surgery to have the missing teeth replaced.
