Miley Cyrus caught up in Florida concert lawsuit
Miley Cyrus has found herself at the centre of a new lawsuit after festival organisers in Florida were allegedly duped by a bogus booking agent.
Promoters for the Miami South Beach Outdoor Festival thought they had landed the Wrecking Ball hitmaker as the headliner for the New Year's Day bash (01Jan14) after handing over a $125,000 deposit to a woman reportedly claiming to represent the singer.
However, the defendant, who has yet to be identified, is accused of
taking the funds and failing to deliver Cyrus for the gig, the day
after she rang in 2014 with a performance in New York's Times
Square.
Event organisers are now suing for the return of their money.
The woman claims she did nothing wrong and did actually forward the
cash to Cyrus' team for the show, but the singer's representatives
have denied any involvement in the scandal and insist the defendant
has no connection to the star's real booking agent, reports
