Michael B. Jordan confirms he and Lupita Nyong'o will star in Black Panther movie

Michael B. Jordan has confirmed he and Lupita Nyong'o will star in upcoming Marvel superhero movie Black Panther.

The actor, 29, will reteam with Michael's Creed director Ryan Coogler on the film joining Lupita Nyong'o, and Chadwick Boseman, 39, who plays the titular character.

Michael and the 12 Years A Slave star were strongly rumored to be in negotiations to star in the film, and now he has confirmed he's joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael says, "I'm super excited to put a different spin on it (an MCU film). I'm looking forward to working with Ryan (Coogler) once again. It's gonna be a good time."

In a fast paced question and answer session, he added that he couldn't wait to work with, "Lupita and Chadwick," on the movie.

Chadwick first played the Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War, released last month (May16). The standalone film featuring the character is scheduled for release in 2018.

The nature of Michael's role is yet to be confirmed at the time of WENN going to press.

His role in Black Panther will not be his first in a superhero movie, as he starred as the Human Torch in last year's (15) Fantastic Four reboot.

Fantastic Four opened to scathing reviews and flopped at the box office, only just recouping its estimated $120 million production budget.

Lupita has a more successful track record in major blockbusters however, as computer generated smuggler Maz Kanata in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which made more than $2 billion in cinemas around the world.
