Melanie Brown's husband denies marriage is on the rocks

Melanie Brown's husband Stephen Belafonte has dismissed rumours their marriage is in trouble after the singer appeared on Britain's The X Factor without her wedding ring.

The former Spice Girl was admitted to hospital suffering from a mystery illness on Thursday (11Dec14) and missed the first half of the reality TV show's final on Saturday (13Dec14).

Brown returned to The X Factor on Sunday (14Dec14) and sparked rumours her union with Belafonte was on the rocks when she waved at the cameras and was clearly not wearing her ring.

Brown did not reveal the nature of her illness, but told presenter Dermot O'Leary, "I really missed being here, but a big thank you to the doctors and nurses who got me here tonight."

Over the weekend (13-14Dec14), Brown's mother Andrea and sister Danielle posted a series of messages on Twitter.com demanding information about the singer's condition and whereabouts.

After receiving a barrage of comments on social media, Belafonte tweeted, "I don't usually respond to Twitter msgs (messages) but I will respond to comments of (my marriage in trouble) which I think are quite disgusting (and) untrue!... Mel was very ill a bunch of doctors helped her get better if fans can't just relax B4 (before) being negative they r (are) not real fans..."
