Mel B unfollows Spice Girls bandmate Mel C on social media
Mel B has unfollowed Spice Girls bandmate Mel C on social media.
The hit '90s group celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut single Wannabe this year (16). Rumours have been rife that the band were planning to reunite to mark the occasion, but talks came to a halt after Victoria Beckham apparently pulled out to concentrate on her fashion career.
Mel C, full name Melanie Chisholm, then proved to be another
stumbling block when she apparently told her former bandmates that
she would only agree to the reunion if all five girls took
part.
On Tuesday (31May16), eagle-eyed Spice Girls fans noticed that Mel
B, full name Melanie Brown, had made the shock decision to unfollow
Mel C on Twitter and Instagram - suggesting the latter will
definitely not be involved in any reunion tour.
However, Spice Girls fans haven't given up all hope yet, as Mel B
recently reunited with bandmates Emma Bunton and Geri Horner (nee
Halliwell) on a trip to London. They were pictured in what appeared
to be a recording studio, sparking reports that they were recording
new music, but Mel refused to go into much detail during an
interview on British morning show Lorraine last month (May16).
"I mean, we definitely want to do something," Mel explained. "It's
a celebration of us still doing our thing 20 years on and still
being supportive of each other, so we will see what happens. We are
all just kind of in talks right now.
"It's funny because I landed yesterday and I met up with a few of
my Spices and we were doing a big time reminisce. I had a nice
little cup of tea with Geri and Emma last night and it was
lovely."
It remains to be seen whether or not the Spice Girls will follow in
the footsteps of another hit '90s band, Take That, who are
currently enjoying success as a three piece after originally
finding fame as a five member group.
