McFly brave the rain to give free concert for Christmas shoppers

Rockers Mcfly braved the wintry British weather to treat Christmas shoppers in London to a free gig on Saturday (24Nov12) by performing in the middle of the city's busy Oxford Street.

The stars headed to the shopping Mecca to launch the area's pedestrianisation scheme, which bans buses and cars from the streets in the run up to the holidays.

They turned out in the rain and cold to perform outdoors in the middle of Oxford Circus, and they were joined by hundreds of dancers who performed a spectacular routine to the group's latest single Love Is Easy.

Singer Tom Fletcher subsequently took to his Twitter.com page to thank fans for turning out despite the rainy conditions.

He writes, "Thanks to everyone that braved the cold and rain to see us play at Oxford Street, happy shopping! And a massive thanks to the 200... dancers who put in their time and hard work to pull off the dance to Love Is Easy. Looked awesome!"
