Mariah Carey shows up late for tree lighting performance
Mariah Carey's performance at a Christmas tree lighting ceremony was scrapped after she reportedly showed up three hours late.
The Hero hitmaker was due to pre-record a performance on Tuesday (02Dec14) ahead of Wednesday's (03Dec14) free outdoor concert to celebrate the lighting of New York City's famous Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.
According to TMZ.com, fans and executives at network NBC reportedly
waited for hours for Carey to appear to record her segment before
she finally arrived more than three hours late.
Carey was allegedly ready to perform her festive classic All I Want
for Christmas is You, but NBC officials axed her entire appearance
and told her to go home.
Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Cyndi Lauper, Idina Menzel and LeAnn Rimes
are also due to perform at the ceremony, which will air live on
Wednesday.
