Mariah Carey bringing Christmas concert series to Las Vegas

Mariah Carey has switched the location of her Christmas concert series from New York to Las Vegas.

The We Belong Together star has performed her All I Want for Christmas Is You residency show every festive season between 2014 and 2016 at the Beacon theater in New York.

On Tuesday night (18Jul17), as she marked the final show of her #1 to Infinity residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Mariah surprised the audience by announcing she would be returning to The Colosseum venue in December for her annual festive concert series, named after her 1994 Christmas hit of the same name.

She will perform five shows between 14 and 22 December and tickets go on sale on Saturday.

Mariah, who kicked off her Vegas residency in 2015, also announced earlier this year that her popular festive track will serve as the basis for an animated movie made by Universal.

"I am thrilled to be able to bring the story of my favorite Christmas song to new generations of families with my upcoming new animated movie, Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas Is You," Mariah wrote on Instagram alongside a teaser clip.
