Margot Robbie Suicide Squad spin-off in the works
Margot Robbie may be reprising her Suicide Squad character for a Harley Quinn spin-off film.
The Australian beauty portrays the super villain in the upcoming DC Comics' superhero movie, and executives at Warner Bros. are so impressed they're already planning a stand-alone film with Harley Quinn as one of the main characters.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the as-yet-untitled movie will
focus on several of DC's female heroes and villains, with Batgirl
and the Birds of Prey reportedly in the mix.
Sources tell the publication Robbie, who will also produce the
as-yet-untitled project, was the catalyst for the spin-off, as she
extensively researched the DC Comics world while preparing for
Suicide Squad. In the process, she became enamoured with the comic
books' female characters, and invited an unnamed screenwriter to
help her develop the spin-off, which Warner Bros. executives
immediately picked up.
Suicide Squad also features Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis and Karen
Fukuhara, but it's not known if the trio will appear in Margot's
spin-off.
