Officials representing the Los Angeles City Attorney have filed misdemeanor charges against singer and actress Mandy Moore's accused stalker.

Salahudin Moultaali has allegedly shown up multiple times at the Saved star's home, but Moore's previous attempt to put him behind bars failed due to "lack of evidence".

He was arrested days after the Los Angeles District Attorney threw out the case after showing up at Moore's Hollywood home on Friday (19Feb16).

Police charged him with flouting the terms of a restraining order put in place by a judge and accused him of felony stalking.

On Wednesday (24Feb16), he was charged with stalking, violating a restraining order and trespassing.

Moore has claimed Moultaali left several notes claiming to be God, Satan & the Devil and demanded to speak with her.

If convicted, he faces over two years behind bars.

In addition to the charges, sources tell TMZ.com Moultaali will be given a mental evaluation.

Police were called to the Candy singer's home on 12 February (16) after an unnamed man was allegedly found trying to leave notes on her doorstep. She was home at the time and told police she was subjected to screaming and swearing from the suspected stalker. It was reportedly the third time in as many days that the man had arrived at the property unannounced and uninvited.

Law enforcement sources have maintained Moultaali may be mentally ill throughout Mandy's ordeal.

Police officials stepped up their patrols in the star's neighborhood after the alleged stalker was initially allowed to walk free.
