Madonna to kickstart fashion brand with shoe collection
Madonna is teaming up with footwear brand Aldo to design her own shoe collection.
The pop superstar made her first foray into fashion in 2010 by launching Material Girl, a brand aimed at young females, with her teenage daughter Lourdes.
She is now working on a more grown-up label called Truth or Dare,
which will eventually include fragrances, clothes, accessories and
lingerie, and the singer will kickstart her new business with a
footwear line, created in conjunction with Aldo.
Madonna's long-time stylist, Arianne Phillips, who is acting as
creative consultant on the line, tells WWD, "Her fingers are really
on this brand. The first thing I did was remind her of all the
shoes she wore over the years, and we took the styles that we can't
live without."
The shoe collection will include 60 styles from boots to high heels
and will range in price from $89 to $349. The range will hit stores
in the autumn (12).
