Madonna spends Thanksgiving in Malawi

Madonna is spending Thanksgiving on Thursday (27Nov14) in Malawi with her children, David and Mercy, who she adopted from the African country.

The Material Girl hitmaker has posted a series of photographs of her trip on Instagram.com showing her visits to children's hospitals and orphanages.

Madonna is also seen meeting surgical trainees at the country's Queen Elizabeth Hospital, and being pushed on a swing by Mercy outside the Kondanani Orphanage.

It is the first time the singer has visited the country since former President Joyce Banda accused her of "bullying state officials" during a humanitarian trip in March last year (13).

Madonna branded the claims "utterly ridiculous" and insisted she came to the country with "honourable intentions".
