Nocturnal Animals made a splash at the Cannes Film Festival in May (15), when bosses at Focus Features acquired the project for $20 million , making it one of the biggest deals to come out of the French film festival in recent history.

The movie will be fashion designer/filmmaker Ford's follow-up to his acclaimed 2009 film A Single Man. It already boasts an impressive cast, including Jake Gyllenhaal, Amy Adams, Kim Basinger, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Michael Shannon and Armie Hammer.
