Louis Tomlinson pulls out of soccer game

One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has apologised to fans after pulling out of a soccer game due to injury.

The pop singer was set to fulfil a lifelong dream joining his hometown team, Doncaster Rovers, in a reserve match against Scunthorpe United on Wednesday (18Sep13) but he admits he isn't fit to play.

The cancellation comes after Tomlinson's disastrous charity game on 8 September (13), when he was tackled by another player and hobbled off the field to vomit on the sidelines.

In a series of posts on his Twitter.com page, Tomlinson admits he's devastated not to take part.

He writes, "Unfortunately due to injury I cannot play at this week's Doncaster Rovers match. I will still be attending the match on the bench. I will play in another game in 2014, to be announced. I'm really sorry I can't play... I'm gutted."

Ticket holders can apply for a full refund.

The 21 year old signed for Doncaster Rovers as a non-contract player last month (Aug13).
