Louis Tomlinson debuts newborn son online

One Direction star Louis Tomlinson has shared a picture of his baby son on social media and revealed his name.

The 24-year-old pop star became a first-time father on Thursday (21Jan16) when stylist Briana Jungwirth gave birth in Los Angeles.

Louis showed his newborn off to fans on Twitter.com on Wednesday night (27Jan16) and revealed his name, writing in the caption, "Meet my little lad, Freddie."

In the black and white photo, a topless Louis can be seen cradling his son against his chest.

In later tweets, he wrote, "Freddie Tommo... Thank you so much for the all nice messages."

Briana also released a picture on Instagram.com of her kissing the head of her swaddled baby as they sit in a hospital bed. She writes in the caption, "1/21/16. Freddie Reign. Love of my life."

Reports of the birth began circulating on the Internet on Thursday evening, but it was not confirmed by Louis until Saturday (23Jan16) when he tweeted, "I'm pleased to say my baby son was born yesterday... He is healthy and pretty amazing... I'm very happy!!"

The British star is reportedly moving to Los Angeles to be a hands-on dad and will be supporting Briana financially by paying $14,000 a month in child support, according to reports.

"Louis is doing everything he can to provide for mother and baby," a source previously told Britain's The Sun newspaper. "He's very wealthy but is still being hugely generous in the amount he is giving... He's taking being a dad very seriously."

He will be closer to his rumored girlfriend, actress Danielle Campbell, who stars in TV show The Originals. They were first linked in December (15) and have been spotted together on a number of occasions since. They reportedly enjoyed a ski trip together in the Alps earlier this month (Jan15).
