Liv Tyler: 'Dad is going to be OK after health scare'

Actress Liv Tyler is playing down her rocker dad's recent health scare, which prompted his Aerosmith bandmates to cancel their South American tour, insisting he's OK.

Steven Tyler was forced to fly back to the U.S. due to "unexpected medical issues" following a gig in Brazil last month (Sep17), and a source has since told the Boston Globe that he suffered a seizure backstage in Sao Paulo.

The singer has shot down the report insisting he simply had to have "a procedure that only my doc (doctor) in the States could perform..."

Tyler has not released details about his condition - other than it's not life-threatening, and now his actress daughter has assured fans her dad will be just fine.

"He is OK," she tells chat show host Jonathan Ross. "It was just one of those things when he had a little thing that needed to be taken care of and he was in pain.

"It’s hard when you're on tour because you don’t want to let everybody down. And then it just got bad and he had to go to L.A. to have a little operation. He is recovering."

Meanwhile, her dad has announced he will return to the stage on for the David Foster Foundation 30th Anniversary Miracle Gala and Concert in Vancouver, Canada in 21 October (17).

The star-studded event, which will be headlined by composer Foster, will also feature Robin Thicke and The Tenors.
