Lindsay Lohan 'facing bankruptcy over unpaid rent'
Lindsay Lohan is allegedly facing bankruptcy after failing to pay the rent on her $4.3 million London flat.
Lawyers for the landlord of the property, located in the exclusive Knightsbridge area of the British capital, have issued the 30-year-old with legal papers demanding payment of six months of overdue rent, totalling $95,000 .
They will also petition for her bankruptcy on 8 November (16) if
she fails to pay, Mail Online reports.
The 12-month tenancy agreement, which had a six-month break clause,
was in Lohan's name, but it is understood her ex-boyfriend, Russian
property tycoon Egor Tarabasov, paid a three-month deposit upfront
in full.
The couple, who got engaged in April (16) but called it quits after
violent rows in July, agreed to split the $3,700 a week rent, but
Tarabasov claims Lohan never paid her share.
The Mean Girls star is reportedly still the legal tenant, and
stayed at the London property for a few days in September (16) to
film for Jamie Oliver’s cookery show.
Tarabasov has also added to Lohan's legal woes by claiming she took
up to $29,000 worth of his belongings including a Rolex Oyster
watch and designer clothing from the flat they shared.
The 23-year-old sent an inventory to his lawyers of the items he
claims went missing, which featured a Luc Waring painting, a print
of Tracey Emin’s The Kiss, a diamond-studded ring and a Panerai
Luminor Marina watch.
A representative for Lohan has declined to comment on the
report.
