Lil Za blasts reporters for exaggerating drug arrest
Justin Bieber's rapper pal Lil Za has accused reporters of racial discrimination by exaggerating his drug possession arrest to make him "look bad".
The 19 year old was taken into custody on Tuesday (14Jan14) following a police raid on Bieber's Calabasas, California mansion in connection to an alleged neighborhood vandalism incident.
Cops claim to have discovered illegal substances in "plain view"
during the property search and arrested Lil Za on suspicion of
felony drug possession.
The white powder allegedly found was determined to be MDMA, a form
of ecstasy frequently referred to as molly, but the teenager, real
name Xavier Smith, was stunned after reading early rumors
suggesting he had been caught with cocaine.
He took to his Twitter.com blog early on Thursday (16Jan14), two
days after his release from jail, to address the widespread
coverage of his legal woes, insisting members of the press were
depicting him as a bad influence on pop idol Bieber.
In a series of posts, he wrote, "Honestly, the media is making me
someone I'm not. But only those in my shoes can relate... These ppl
(people) get paid to make you look bad.
"Some stuff I've done has been wrong yes. but look at the position
I'm in and the color of my skin. Cocaine? Really? All this time I
was home in tx (Texas) nobody gave a f**k about what Za is doing...
soon as he gets to La (Los Angeles) he's all over the news
(sic)."
Lil Za found himself under arrest for a second time on Tuesday
after allegedly vandalising a prison phone as he was about to post
bail for the drug count.
