Lil Boosie opens up about cancer diagnosis
Rapper Lil Boosie is opening up about his recent kidney cancer diagnosis, revealing music has helped him cope with the medical drama in his life.
The hip-hop star, real name Torrence Hatch, revealed doctors had discovered the tumor in November (15), and a month later (Dec15), he underwent an extensive, successful surgery to remove half of his kidney.
Ever since, Boosie has been undergoing treatment to fight the
disease, and in a new interview with Revolt TV, he discusses the
life-changing moment he found out he had to fight for life.
"I got an MRI, that motherf**ker (doctor) came back like, 'We found
something on your kidney'," he recalls. "(He said), 'You know you
got cancer', and that's when they told me. That was the first time
I found that out."
But Boosie turned to his love of music to help him through the dark
time, writing his recently released album, In My Feelings (Goin’
Thru It), which includes a track titled Cancer, which details his
battle with the disease.
"That’s part of me with my music," he explains. "That’s what
probably will never get me to fall off, because I keep going
through stuff and I keep talking about it... I know I got a million
fans, I'll get a million prayers. Whatever helps."
