Liam Payne takes bakery class with girlfriend

One Direction star Liam Payne took his girlfriend Sophia Smith to a famous bakery during a tour stop in New Jersey to take part in a cake decorating class.

The singer, who is currently on tour with the pop group, headed to Carlo's Bakery in New Jersey, which is featured in reality TV show Cake Boss, on Thursday (07Aug14).

The Little Things singer, a self-professed fan of the baking show, got to work decorating a blue fondant sponge with white icing, while Smith helped create a pink and purple tie-dye cake. Payne also donned one of the bakery's uniforms to serve customers at the shop.

After the session, Payne took to Twitter.com to thank bakery staff for their kindness, writing, "Thanks so much for having us today was so much fun and thanks for all the goodies."

He also changed his Twitter handle to "Liam Payne The Baker" and uploaded a picture of his cake-baking exploits as his new profile picture.
