Liam Payne: 'New One Direction album sounds like Oasis'
Liam Payne has declared One Direction are moving away from their trademark pop with their upcoming album, insisting their new music echoes the sound of British rockers Oasis.
The pop stars are currently working on their fifth record, which will be their first release as a four-piece following the departure of Zayn Malik last month (Mar15).
Payne has now given fans an update on the album's progress, and
compared their new tracks to the hits of defunct rock group
Oasis.
He tells Britain's Capital FM radio station, "The album's coming
together really well actually. The boys we've been writing with
have come up with some great, great songs that are kind of like a
bit Oasis-y almost which is ace. I love that... We want this to be
quite a long-lasting album that you can listen to anytime."
