Liam Hemsworth to star in action movie Killerman
Liam Hemsworth has signed on to star in upcoming action movie Killerman.
The Australian actor will play a money launderer named Moe Diamond, who is suffering from amnesia following an accident during a deal gone wrong, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Liam's character then has to deal with a number of violent gangsters and dirty cops who are hot on his tail.
Killerman has been written and will be directed by Malik Bader, who previously helmed crime thriller Cash Only, which debuted at the 2015 Fantasia International Film Festival and was released by FilmBuff in the U.S. in 2016. Seen as a promising directing talent, Malik also made the 2006 documentary-style film Street Thief, which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival.
The Solution's Lisa Wilson will executive produce the film, with shooting slated to begin in August (17). John and Michael Schwarz will also produce alongside Myles Nestel.
The Solution is financing and handling international rights for the project, and will introduce it to buyers during the upcoming Cannes Film Festival.
Liam broke out in Hollywood in Disney's 2010 drama The Last Song, opposite Miley Cyrus, whom he is now engaged to marry. The 27-year-old has since had a major role in the hit Hunger Games movie franchise, opposite Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, and was most recently seen on screen alongside Kate Winslet in The Dressmaker, and as a fighter pilot in Independence Day: Resurgence.
Liam also starred in Kieran Darcy-Smith's western film The Duel, with Woody Harrelson and Alice Braga.
