Leona Lewis blogs about royal obsession

Leona Lewis has come clean about her obsession with Britain's royal family in a candid blog post about her love for Prince William and his wife Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge.

The Bleeding Love star has revealed she is a devoted follower of the royals and was among the fans eager for news of the birth of the couple's first child this week (beg22Jul13).

She has sent her congratulations to the pair on their new addition, Prince George of Cambridge, and described their relationship as a "fairy tale in the making".

Lewis writes in a post on her blog, "Whenever I see pictures of William and Kate, a warm familiar feeling comes over me. I feel like I know them somehow, I feel that they could be my sweet next door neighbours or a couple you meet on holiday and have a laugh with... They somehow seemed like an extended part of (my) family.

"Wedding fever definitely came over me when Kate and William got married... and when Kate announced her pregnancy I was overjoyed. Its strange and also lovely how we become so connected to people we've never even met."

She adds of the royal birth, "I was sure it would be a girl. Baby watch was well and truly in full force... Kate looked absolutely beautiful as she stepped outside for pictures with her baby bundle in her arms and husband by her side. Although as a country we face so many social issues and government cut backs, it's nice to have something positive to celebrate. It's like a fairy tale in the making. Congratulations William and Kate."
