Leaked Sony emails reveal Lady Gaga is Simon Cowell's Betty Boop
Lady Gaga is to give cartoon character Betty Boop a voice in Simon Cowell's upcoming movie.
The Poker Face singer's links to the project have been revealed in a leaked Sony email posted on the Wikileaks website this week (beg13Apr15).
In the correspondence, Columbia Pictures executive Lauren Abrahams
confirms, "Lady Gaga is attached to voice Betty Boop & do some of
the music."
Cowell announced plans to make the first Betty Boop film last
summer (14).
Gaga's involvement had not been officially confirmed before the
leak. Abrahams suggests the film will be an "animated live action
hybrid" and admits she is not a big fan of the idea, adding, " Not
sure really who it’s for in a big mainstream way", while Columbia
Pictures President Doug Belgrad agrees, "It sounds kind of weird to
me to be honest. I don't mind if we don't chase it."
Lady Gaga's representatives have yet to comment on the story and a
representative for Sony Music has declined to comment on
information "stolen in a malicious attack".
The leaked emails posted to Wikileaks are a continuation of the
correspondence hacked by cyber terrorists last year (14).
