Lea Michele 'was planning to wed Cory Monteith'

Cory Monteith and Lea Michele were planning to wed, according to her grandfather.

Lea Michele was left devastated when her on and off-screen boyfriend was found dead from an alcohol and heroin overdose in Vancouver, Canada at the weekend (13Jul13), and now her grandfather, Albert Sarfati, has opened up about the young couple's romantic plans that now lies in tatters.

He tells Star magazine, "They were about to be married. I'm sure Lea is brokenhearted."

Meanwhile, a source close to the tragic couple adds, "They were quietly hinting to their pals about making wedding plans. I can't imagine how crushing this is to Lea."

Cory Monteith and Lea Michele, who met and fell in love on the set of Glee, went public with their real-life romance last year (12).

Neither confirmed nor denied reports they had become engaged earlier this year (13).
