Lea Michele threatens to leave New York over horse plight

Written by . Published: December 29 2011

Lea Michele has threatened to leave her native New York City if Mayor MICHAEL BLOOMBERG refuses to outlaw the Big Apple's iconic horse-drawn carriage rides.

The Glee singer/actress has been vocal in her support of a PETA campaign to ban the tourist trots around Central Park and has even written to Bloomberg asking him to approve a bill replacing the carriages with classic cars.

Now Michele, who was born in the Bronx, admits she can no longer face life in the city as long as the institution is still running.

In a post on her Twitter.com page, she writes, "New York, u know how much I love you. But if I see another horse & carriage struggling in this winter weather I may not be able 2 be here."

Michele has also asked her fans to join in the cause, adding, "Please tweet to Mike Bloomberg if you agree that horse and carriages should no longer be on the busy streets of NYC. And let's end this. Mike Bloomberg, please listen to the thousands of people who are saying that they no longer want horse & carriage rides in this city."
