Lea Michele ready to love again after Cory Monteith heartbreak
Lea Michele is ready to love again following the tragic death of boyfriend Cory Monteith in 2013.
The Glee actress and singer was dating her former co-star Cory when he died of a drug overdose at the age of 31 in 2013.
Lea has often marked her love for Cory since, and penned Hey You, a song on her new album Places in memory of her lost love.
Now the 30-year-old says she's finally come to terms with her heartbreak and is looking forward to moving on with all aspects of her life.
"I've had to come to a place in my life where I have the strength and joy to move forward - and to be thankful and believe in life again," she tells Britain's Daily Star newspaper.
Lea's new optimism about life is reflected on her record, despite it also addressing the tragic end to her relationship with Cory.
"There's a lot of songs about love, sad love, loss and heartbreak but, for me, I've come to a place where I really truly believe in love again," she adds.
Although the star has been in relationships since Cory's death, notably dating Matthew Paetz for two years, she has not as yet settled down with a new beau.
But now Lea has come to terms with her own personal tragedy, she is keen to give fans a glimpse into her life through her music.
"These are moments and glimpses into my life. I try to keep my life private but my songs are a chance to let fans in and see what I'm going through," she explains.
Places, the star's second solo album, is released on Friday (28Apr17).
