Lea Michele and Glee stars remember Cory Monteith at memorial
Lea Michele reunited with her Glee castmates on Thursday (25Jul13) at a memorial to honor her late boyfriend and co-star Cory Monteith.
The actress, who was left devastated by the actor's sudden death in Canada on 13 July (13), and Glee creator Ryan Murphy invited cast and crew to join them and share their memories of the late star at the tribute event.
A statement from 20th Century Fox Television executives reads,
"Today, Ryan Murphy and Lea Michele gathered the cast, crew and
producers of Glee, along with colleagues from the network and
studio, to share memories and music in an emotional celebration of
the life of Cory Monteith.
"We thank the public for their continued outpouring of love and
support as we grieve our friend and colleague during this difficult
time."
Actor Chris Colfer took to his Instagram.com page after the event
to share a photo of himself and his late pal, who played his
stepbrother on the show. He wrote, "I'll never forget all the
laughs we shared or the faces we made after awkward interview
questions. Love and miss you, buddy."
Production on the upcoming fifth season of Glee was pushed back in
the wake of the 31 year old's death, allowing cast and crew to
mourn the loss of their friend and colleague. The new season of the
show will debut a week later than planned in September (13).
Two episodes and a Monteith tribute show will air before Murphy and
the show's writers begin a hiatus during which they'll decide where
to take the program and their late leading man's character Finn
Hudson.
