Lara Bingle slams Australian reporter for criticizing baby name
New mother Lara Bingle has blasted an Australian reporter for her "juvenile ramblings" in a piece that mocked her baby son's unusual name.
The model and her partner, Avatar star Sam Worthington, welcomed their first child in Los Angeles last month (Mar15), and rumors suggest the couple has named the boy Rocket Zot.
The unique moniker has drawn some cruel comments from detractors on
social media and in the tabloids, and Bingle hit back at one
columnist for taking the criticism a little too far.
The article in question, penned by Annette Sharp, was published in
The Daily Telegraph in Bingle's native Australia over the weekend
(04-05Apr15) and the model wasted no time in lashing out at the
writer and questioning her credibility on Facebook.com.
Alongside a link to the offending piece, titled 'Lara Bingle
doesn't care a zot for baby name traditions', the new mom writes,
"My sons (sic) middle name IS a respectful nod to my late father,
whose nickname was affectionately, Zot.
"I wish Australian journalism, and in particular The Daily
Telegraph, would rethink employing people who have some respect,
and integrity, who either fact check or not comment - rather than
just print the juvenile, spurious ramblings of some pseudo
journalist called Annette Sharp."
Worthington and Bingle have been together since 2013 and are
rumored to have secretly tied the knot last year (14).
