Lance Bass announces 'N Sync reunion as April Fools' Day prank
Former 'N Sync star Lance Bass teased fans on April Fools' Day (01Apr14) by announcing the boy band is planning an official comeback, complete with new songs and a world tour.
The Bye Bye Bye hitmakers performed for the first time together in over a decade at the MTV Video Music Awards last year (13), and on Tuesday, Bass took to Twitter.com with a message about a possible reunion.
He wrote, "*NSYNC Announce Reunion: 2 New Songs, Tour Coming in
2015," and linked the tweet to an article about the band's
reformation.
The story, posted on RyanSeacrest.com, read: "*NSYNC are saying Bye
Bye Bye to their 12-year hiatus. On Tuesday, the mega popular boy
band announced that they will be reuniting once again, but this
time for a world tour and new music."
The piece also suggested a new greatest hits album featuring two
new tracks, including one with Miley Cyrus, would be released ahead
of the tour.
And it read, "There have also been rumors that the 'Wrecking Ball'
singer will also serve as *NSYNC’s opening act when they launch
their There Are Still No Strings Attached world tour next
year."
Bass later followed up his first post with a tweet that read:
"Happy #AprilFoolsDay!"
