Lana Del Rey performed for free at Kim Kardashian's wedding

Singer Lana Del Rey has brushed off rumors she scored a big payday when she agreed to perform at Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's pre-wedding party on Friday (23May14), insisting she would never charge friends for her time.

Rapper West asked the Summertime Sadness star to stage a surprise set for his bride-to-be at the couple's celebratory dinner at the Palace of Versailles, and the special performance reportedly brought Kardashian to tears.

Reports suggested Del Rey earned at least six figures for the three-song gig, while one article alleged she had pocketed a whopping $2.8 million for the show.

However, the singer set the record straight on Wednesday (28May14) as she arrived back in Los Angeles from Europe, telling TMZ.com, "It's not true... I would never let a friend pay me to sing at a wedding."

Del Rey has a special place in the couple's hearts - West hired an orchestra to perform her track Young & Beautiful when he proposed at AT&T Stadium in San Francisco, California on Kardashian's 33rd birthday last year (13).

West and his reality TV star bride tied the knot in Florence, Italy on Saturday (24May14).
