Lady Gaga working with United Nations to empower youths
Lady Gaga is teaming up with United Nations officials to help empower youths across the world.
The Born This Way hitmaker began her work for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) on Saturday (01Dec12) when she stopped by a centre for at-risk and abandoned kids during a break from her tour of South Africa.
She documented the trip in a series of photos and shared the images
with fans via her Twitter.com blog on Monday (03Dec12), as she
announced her new collaboration.
She writes, "On Dec. 1 I visited Isibindi Safe Park in Naledi to
speak w (with) the children about Youth Empowerment on behalf of
UN/UNICEF... Teaming with the United Nations I can continue
breeding our Born This Way message of compassion.
#KinderAndBraverWorld".
Gaga plans to set up a dedicated section to the initiative on her
LittleMonsters.com fansite to keep followers updated on her
progress.
The singer isn't the only star currently working with UNICEF -
Selena Gomez serves as an ambassador for the organisation, while
Chloe Grace Moretz recently fronted its annual Halloween campaign,
which encourages kids to make a difference to the lives of
youngsters in poorer countries.
