Lady Gaga to speak at event alongside the Dalai Lama
Lady Gaga will appear alongside the Dalai Lama in Indianapolis on Sunday (26Jun16) at the U.S. Conference of Mayors annual meeting.
The Bad Romance singer has confirmed her attendance as the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet is scheduled to give the conference's keynote address in which he will urge local action to build kind and compassionate cities.
Gaga will join the spiritual leader for an onstage conversation,
moderated by journalist Ann Curry, on a panel which also includes
businessman and philanthropist Philip Anschutz.
The Grammy award-winning artist is the co-founder of the Born This
Way Foundation, which also encourages young people to create a
kinder and braver world.
However, Gaga's fans may be disappointed, as the event isn't open
to the general public, just press and registered conference
attendees.
The Dalai Lama and Gaga aren’t the only notable guests set to
appear at the event. Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee
Hillary Clinton will speak to the group on Sunday as well.
The conference event is expecting 300 mayors from across the
country to attend.
