Lady Gaga's family restaurant hit with hygiene violations
Bosses of Lady Gaga's family restaurant in New York have vowed to fight a damning report from city health inspectors after the eaterie was found to be in violation of hygiene and sanitary rules.
The pop superstar's parents, Joseph and Cynthia Germanotta, own the Joanne Trattoria on Manhattan's West Side and it was officially opened with a star-studded launch in February (12), while Gaga has even admitted helping out in the kitchen herself.
However, New York City health inspectors were less than impressed
with the Italian restaurant and it was given a poor rating
following a Department of Health inspection last week
(ends07Oct12).
The report gave the restaurant a 'C' grade, the lowest issued by
city officials, and cited numerous hygiene violations, according to
documents obtained by Thesmokinggun.com.
However, the venue's manager Travis Jones has vowed to fight the
report and challenge the decisions made by the health
inspectors.
He tells the New York Post, "We're going to be taking it to court.
So it's bogus until November, when it's (the report) finalised.
We're planning on disputing it."
