Lady Gaga lawsuit ruling upheld

A judge has upheld a $7.3 million payout to the songwriter who discovered Lady Gaga.
Wendy Starland sued the pop star's former producer and mentor Rob Fusari over claims she brought the singer to his attention in 2005, but was never fully compensated for her work "discovering and developing Lady Gaga".
She was awarded a $7.3 million settlement last year (14), but
Fusari challenged the sum and argued for it to be reduced.
However, a judge has now ruled the multi-million dollar settlement
should stand.
U.S. District court Judge Jose Linares stated in the ruling that
the payout awarded by the jury is not "excessive" or "shocking to
the court".
