Lady Gaga: 'I'm nothing like Madonna, I write all my own songs'
Lady Gaga's ongoing feud with Madonna has stirred up again after the Poker Face singer accused the veteran of not writing her own tunes or playing her instruments.
The divas first fell out when critics compared Gaga's Born This Way to Madonna's Express Yourself and the pop icon accused the younger star of ripping off her tune.
Last year (15), Madonna said, "The only time I ever criticized Lady
Gaga was when I felt like she blatantly ripped off one of my songs.
It's got nothing to do with 'she's taking my crown' or 'she's in
some space of mine'. She has her thing. I do think she's a very
talented singer and songwriter. It was just that one issue."
Although the feud simmered down for a while, the war of words
appears to have been reignited by Lady Gaga after the pop sensation
took a subtle swipe at Madonna in a new Beats 1 Radio chat with
Zane Lowe.
"Madonna and I are very different," the 30-year-old told Lowe on
Thursday (20Oct16) when asked about links between the two singers.
"I wouldn't make that comparison at all and I don't mean to
disrespect Madonna; she's a nice lady and she's had a fantastic
huge career, biggest pop star of all time.
"But I play a lot of instruments. I write all my own music. I spend
hours and hours a day in the studio. I'm a producer. I'm a writer.
What I do is different.
"I'm not just rehearsing over and over again to put on a show there
is a spontaneity in my work. I allow myself to fail. I allow myself
to break. I'm not afraid of my flaws... There are major differences
between me and her and I don't mean that in a disrespectful way. I
just will not be compared to anyone anymore. I am who the f**k I am
and this is me."
