Kylie Jenner donating portion of Lip Kit proceeds to cancer research
Kylie Jenner has marked her birthday by donating a portion of money from her Kylie Cosmetics sales to Teen Cancer America.
The reality TV star and make-up maven celebrated her 20th birthday on Thursday (10Aug17) and took to Instagram to share one of the philanthropic ways she was marking the occasion.
Alongside a video in which Kylie featured with close friend Harry Hudson, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in 2013 but has now conquered the disease, one of her beauty team members wrote: "@kyliejenner is doing something special to celebrate her birthday! Today Kylie is donating a portion of the proceeds from all sales on KylieCosmetics.com to @teencanceramerica, an amazing organization who help improve the lives of teens and young adults with cancer. Thanks to @harryhudson and the @teencanceramerica team for helping us make a difference!"
In the video, Harry is seen saying: "Every hour, a teen in the U.S. gets diagnosed with cancer... We're trying to bridge the gap between child and adult cancer care... Together we are spreading awareness through her product, today, on her birthday."
It is unclear just what portion of the proceeds from the lip kits will be going towards funding cancer research.
Kylie unveiled her first lipstick line in August 2015, with her cosmetics company then snowballing into a major venture. It has made $420 million in retail sales over the past 18 months, according to her mother Kris Jenner, and is showing no signs of decreasing in popularity.
Following the global launch of Kylie's wildly successful Lip Kits, she has unveiled ranges of eyeshadows, matte lipsticks and metallic highlighters, with Kris claiming the company could be worth a billion dollars by the year 2022.
