Kristin Cavallari thanks baby girl for helping her cope with brother's death

Reality star Kristin Cavallari's baby girl has become mum's "light" in the aftermath of her brother's death.

The 28-year-old was left devastated last week (ends11Dec15) when the body of her sibling Michael was found by law enforcement officers, weeks after he was reported missing in Utah.

While still numb from her loss, Kristin has found comfort and strength in her family, particularly three-week-old Saylor, who was born four days before the uncle she'll never meet went missing.

"My little angel, Saylor," she captioned an Instagram picture of her baby's legs and feet. "She has been my light throughout this whole thing and has given me so much strength. Thank you baby girl for coming when u did. (sic).

Saylor is Kristin's third child with her husband, the football star Jay Cutler.

The exact circumstances surrounding Michael's death have not yet been revealed, but reports suggest he was experiencing troubles in his personal life ahead of his passing.

Orange County, California police records reveal he was arrested on 23 November (15), just days before his disappearance.

Following the discovery of his body on Thursday (10Dec15), Kristin posted a moving tribute to the 30 year old on social media, alongside a throwback picture of the siblings together as kids.

"My heart is in a million pieces," she wrote. "Mikey, I could always count on you to make me laugh. You had such a good heart and will be forever missed. I'm at a loss for words but I know u are in a better place and finally at peace. I love u so much RIP."

Kristin also has sons Camden and Jaxon with Chicago Bears quarterback Cutler, who she married in 2013.
