Kristen Bell feels guilty about ruining Christmas with stink bomb
Actress Kristen Bell feels guilty about ruining her family's Christmas (11) celebrations after a stink bomb she bought accidentally deployed in her handbag.
The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star and her fiance Dax Shephard went on a road trip over the holidays and together they stopped at a gas station to pick up some trinkets while on their way to visit his family in Oregon.
Kristen Bell purchased a handful of stink bombs as a gag for an
upcoming party - but her funny idea backfired when the device
activated itself, sending everyone into a frenzy.
She says, "We packed up a three-quarter ton pick-up truck and we
went on a two-week road trip... We drove about 3,000 miles. Dax
likes driving and I love napping so it's a perfect scenario... And
it's fun because we get to stop at gas stations and there's always
amazing novelty items in the gas stations. We have a white elephant
Christmas party every year where you find (and exchange) the
tackiest gifts and I stocked up for next year. I found at a random
gas station a bunch of stink bombs, which are amazing. I bought
like five of them and Dax did not approve of them...
"So... we got to Oregon and three days into being there our furnace
broke, at Dax's parents house. So his stepdad was trying to fix the
furnace for like three days and then we're all sitting around the
Christmas tree and we hear something and the whole house starts to
smell like sulphur. And we got really nervous and everybody was
walking around the vents because we assume it's the furnace,
obviously. And we bring the neighbours over and everybody is
walking around the house trying to figure out if the furnace is on
fire.
"I'm walking around the house with my handbag, accusing everybody
of where the smell's coming from... barking orders. Cut to a nice
plume of green smoke coming out of my handbag and one of them had
activated itself. It really ruins Christmas. It lingered for a
bit... It's not a great smell."
