Kid Rock attended a Los Angeles court on Friday (05Mar10) to answer assault charges over allegations he attacked three fans in 2006.

The rocker is facing a legal battle with three fans, who allege he assaulted them at the Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles four years ago.

The lawsuit claims Kid Rock - real name Robert Ritchie - along with six members of hip-hop group the Boo-Yaa Tribe attacked Michael Medlin, Jose Perez and Carlos Bonilla after they asked for autographs.

The trio filed a liability suit against Ritchie in 2008, and are seeking $15 million in damages.

Defending himself in court, Ritchie denied any wrongdoing, and insists the scene after the incident was "chaotic", according to E! Online.

And he was adamant claims he growled "Who wants a piece of me next?" during the alleged brawl were ridiculous, as he wouldn't say anything so "corny".

He told the judge, "I wouldn't say something corny like that. It was kind of chaotic. There were cameras everywhere and people yelling."

The court case continues.
