Khloe Kardashian reveals past skin cancer battle
Khloe Kardashian is urging her fans to be diligent about their skincare after revealing she battled cancer.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has taken to her website, KhloeWithAK, to open about the "painful" ordeal she went through 10 years ago in the hope that her story will prompt fans and followers to seek medical help if they "notice something wrong" with their skin.
In the blog titled My Skin Cancer Scare, Khloe writes: "I've gone
through this process a couple of times and I am so grateful that
most moles have not been cancerous. However, there was one mole I
had on my back that was skin cancer."
"I had 8 inches of skin removed," she continues. "It was definitely
painful because it was a lot of skin, but most of the time, the
removals haven't been that bad. I haven't had a problem in years,
but wanted to share my experience with you so that if you notice
something doesn't look right, you will take action and take care of
your health! Check yourself frequently!"
Khloe is not the only celebrity to battle the disease - actor Hugh
Jackman has undergone five surgeries related to skin cancer, with
his latest taking place earlier this year (16).
In February (16), the 47-year-old took to Instagram to share a
picture of himself wearing a bandage across the bridge of his nose,
and informed fans he'd had a fifth skin cancer spot removed.
"An example of what happens when you don't wear sunscreen," he
wrote in the caption. "Basal Cell. The mildest form of cancer but
serious, nonetheless, PLEASE USE SUNSCREEN and get regular
check-ups."
