Khloe Kardashian: 'Lamar Odom and I are not back together'
Khloe Kardashian insists she has not romantically reunited with estranged husband Lamar Odom, despite putting their divorce proceedings on hold following his near-fatal overdose at a Nevada brothel last year (15).
The basketball star was found unconscious in a cathouse near Las Vegas in October (15), and spent months in hospital as he recovered from kidney problems and a series of strokes.
Although the former couple was estranged at the time, Khloe chose
to put their divorce on hold and step up to make life or death
medical decisions for Lamar.
He was released from hospital last month (Jan16), and Lamar made
his first public appearance alongside Khloe and the rest of the
Kardashian/Jenner clan to support brother-in-law Kanye West at his
New York Fashion Week runway show and listening party on 11
February (16).
Khloe and Lamar looked friendly and chatted with each other during
the event, giving hope to some fans that the two were on the verge
of a reunion.
However, Khloe dashed their dreams by declaring their current
relationship is strictly platonic even though her vow to stick by
his side as a wife will never falter.
"We're not back together. We're not at all," Khloe told chat show
The Talk on Tuesday (23Feb16). "I love him with every fiber of my
being... but we were married and I shared that union with him. I
didn't want for our divorce to happen, but it happened for many
reasons and that doesn't mean I'll just forget about this person in
a time of need.
"I still believe in my vows of being there for him. I know it's
confusing. It's very confusing. It's not a romantic place. It's
coming from a place of real care and concern and love. I don't
think love, just because we're not romantically involved, means I
can't care about someone. I find that so simple-minded."
And as for his first outing at Kanye's big show, Khloe admits she
was hesitant for Lamar to travel from Los Angeles, especially since
he was barely able to walk about a month ago.
"He wanted to go to Kanye's show so badly," she said. "I had so
many reservations. I was so nervous. I was just so protective. I'm
still so protective. He walked in on his own with Kanye and he went
to Madison Square Garden where he used to play. It was so just
impactful. It was beautiful."
