Khloe Kardashian has 'reservations' about The People V. O.J. Simpson
Reality star Khloe Kardashian has yet to watch David Schwimmer's portrayal of her late father Robert Kardashian on American Crime Story: The People V. O.j. Simpson because she has "reservations" on reliving the tragic time through the hit TV series.
Former Friends star David takes on the role of Robert, Simpson's best friend and legal counsel, in the drama, which recounts the high-profile 1995 case against the football icon who was accused of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.
Robert and his ex-wife Kris Jenner, mother of Khloe, Kim, Kourtney
and Robert Jr., were close friends with both O.J. and Nicole for
years, with the couples and their children forming a strong
bond.
Khloe and her celebrity siblings are portrayed as young children on
the show, but she admits she still hasn't been able to sit down and
watch the series because the tragic murder hits close to home.
On Wednesday's (24Feb16) episode of her new talk show Kocktails
with Khloe, she asks her guests Carmen Electra and comedian Ross
Matthews whether they've seen The People V. O.J. Simpson, while
admitting she has yet to tune in.
"I have it on DVD. I just haven’t seen it yet... I've seen all of
the documentaries or the rehashing of the footage of the O.J. trial
and all this stuff, and just seeing like my dad and everything
again, I relive emotions. Like, 'Oh my god, I forgot the sound of
my dad’s voice.'"
Khloe added that she has sympathy for O.J. and Nicole's two
children Sydney and Justin, saying it's "f**ked up" they have to
live through the attention again, adding: "You'll never get over
your mom being murdered."
"I understand why it came back," Khloe then conceded. "I just feel
bad and I think I’m a little more sensitive to it, cause he was my
Uncle O.J., like that’s always what I called him... So just hearing
things or I might remember things differently - I definitely want
to watch it.
"I was also just afraid of how they would portray my dad. I hear
David Schwimmer did a phenomenal job, and they play him really true
to form, so I’m grateful for that... It’s not that I won’t watch
it. I just have like a little reservation about it."
