Kesha lines up a trio of dates in Las Vegas as legal battle rumbles on
Pop star Kesha is hoping to put her ongoing legal worries behind her after announcing a string of dates in Las Vegas.
The Tik Tok singer, who has been battling with her former mentor and producer Dr. Luke after accusing him of physical and emotional abuse in 2013, has lined up a mini-residency at Wynn Las Vegas.
She will headline three nights at the casino and hotel resort's
Intrigue Nightclub from 23 June (16).
Kesha returned to the Las Vegas stage last month (May16), when she
performed with Ben Folds at the Billboard Music Awards.
Dr. Luke and his Kemosabe Records executives, who still oversee
Kesha's career after she lost a bid to void the contract she signed
with the producer, only allowed her performance of Bob Dylan's It
Ain't Me, Babe go ahead when she assured them she had no plans to
attack the hitmaker at the ceremony.
Kesha's three Wynn Las Vegas shows will take place on 23 June, 25
June and 23 July (16), according to Billboard.com.
The news of the trio of dates comes less than a week after the pop
star helped a gay fan propose to his boyfriend onstage at the
DisneyWorld resort’s annual Gay Days celebration in Florida on
Saturday (04Jun16).
One of the men, who was invited onstage to join Kesha, was
blindfolded for what he thought was a skit and when he removed the
cover from his eyes he was surprised to find his boyfriend down on
one knee proposing to him.
Kesha found the magical moment so moving and struggled to keep her
emotions in check as the two fans embraced.
After the gig, she took to Instagram and wrote: "overcome and
overwhelmed with emotion on stage last night.
"I'm honored that @jnegrelli57 & @m_abu24 shared such a monumental
moment with me, and let me help orchestrate their surprise
engagement. love is the magic in life, and really there is nothing
more important. he said yes. he actually said 'a million times,
yes'. then my heart melted and I cried. haha. congratulations."
