Kendall Jenner: 'I was too dependent on Instagram'
Kendall Jenner decided to quit Instagram because she needed to "detox" from social media.
The American model's photo sharing profile disappeared without warning on Sunday (13Nov16), leaving her 68.6 million fans baffled when instead of being greeted by photos of her enviable, high-flying lifestyle, they were met with the generic message: "Sorry this page isn’t available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed."
In an appearance on Wednesday's (16Nov16) The Ellen DeGeneres Show,
the 21-year-old explained why her account had disappeared, sharing
that she simply felt it was time "for a little bit of a break.”
"I’m always on it," Kendall told host Ellen. "I would wake up in
the morning and look at it first thing; I would go to bed and it
was the last thing I would look at. I felt a little too dependent
on it. So I kind of wanted to take a minute. It’s a detox."
Prior to deactivating her Instagram, the Estee Lauder brand
ambassador held one of the most popular celebrity accounts, with
one picture of her lying on the floor with her hair spread into
hearts earning her over three million likes - the most of any photo
in 2015.
She has previously revealed she sometimes deletes her social media
pages when she feels she’s spending too much time on them.
Despite her self-confessed dependence on Instagram, Kendall added
that she expects to make a full return to the social media platform
eventually. But the brunette beauty is enjoying the feeling of not
using it right now.
"I'll find myself going to click on Instagram and it won’t be
there, and I kind of love that," she smiled. "It’s a nice,
refreshing feeling."
Kendall’s Twitter and Facebook pages currently remain active.
