Kelly Rowland recovering well from mystery illness
Singer Kelly Rowland has vowed to return to the U.K. for next Saturday's (05Nov11) The X Factor, after a "rare" illness forced her to bow out of this weekend's (29-30Oct11) live shows.
The former Destiny's Child star is a judge on the British version of the TV talent show, but she pulled out of Saturday and Sunday's live installments after falling sick during a trip to Los Angeles.
It is not known what Rowland is suffering from, but her doctor,
Shawn S. Nasseri, says, "It's extremely rare and I only see 10 or
so cases a year. She has had intravenous antibiotics and we've done
scans. Hopefully she'll be better in two or three days, but she
needs to rest up."
British singer Alexandra Burke stepped in to replace Rowland on the
live shows, but the star is determined to be back on the judging
panel next week - and she has dismissed rumors she's planning to
quit the program.
Her representative tells Britain's Sunday Mirror, "Kelly is making
great progress and is expected to be on a plane back to the U.K. to
take up her place back on the X Factor Âjudging panel next
week.
"Rumors of her quitting are Âcompletely untrue. Her doctor has
said she needs a few days so we're confident that she will be
flying back early next week after her latest check-up. She remains
in contact with her girls (contestants) and is fully Âsupporting
them this weekend."
