Kelly Clarkson: 'I've been robbed'
Singer Kelly Clarkson has lashed out at those responsible for the recent leak of her new album online, insisting the violation was more harrowing for her than when she was physically robbed.
Kelly Clarkson was stunned when she learned demos of new songs from her upcoming album Stronger had been posted on the internet, but she initially brushed off the drama and invited her fans to enjoy the unauthorised music.
In a post on her website she wrote, "No point in getting angry because there's nothing I can do so I hope y'all like the music. I can't wait for everybody to hear my actual finished 5th album!"
But now Kelly Clarkson is opening up about the theft of her unfinished tunes in an interview with Entertainment Weekly magazine.
She rages, "Oh my God, have you ever been robbed? I have. I’ve been physically robbed a couple of times, but this is much worse.
"There are songs out there that are from eight or 10 years ago... People are always asking me to write for other artists. They’re awesome songs, (but) they’re just not songs I would normally sing.
"Those songs came out and people are like, 'Oh my God, what direction is Kelly going?' I think what made me mad was that: 1) People stole from me, and 2): Everybody had no idea what my next album was going to sound like. That really caused a lot of confusion."
The new album will be released in October (11).
