A mansion featured in Keira Knightley's 2008 movie The Duchess was devastated by a fire on Wednesday (29Apr15).
Clandon Park House, an 18th century property in Surrey, England, was engulfed in flames and around 80 emergency service workers battled to extinguish the blaze.
A spokesperson for Britain's National Trust said on Wednesday, "We
can confirm that a fire has broken out this afternoon at Clandon
Park. The building was evacuated and everyone who was in the house
is safe. Surrey Fire and Rescue Service is working to bring the
fire under control and we would like to thank them for their swift
response. We are devastated to see this happen."
The house was used as a backdrop for Knightley's period drama
during filming in 2007.
