Keira Knightley's baby daughter cursed at Donald Trump election result
Keira Knightley's baby daughter Edie cursed when she heard Donald Trump was set to become the next President of the United States.
The Collateral Beauty star revealed her 19-month old daughter had quite an unexpected reaction to the outcome of the U.S. presidential election, in which the reality TV star beat career politician Hillary Clinton to the Oval Office.
In an interview on The Jonathan Ross Show, which airs on Saturday
(10Dec16), new mom Keira happily opened up about her toddler.
“She is talking a lot, she’s running, she’s literally repeating
everything we say so we’re having to be really careful and we are
being really careful but we had this really weird thing the night
of the American Election.”
Keira went on to explain that her daughter hadn’t been sleeping
through the night, until the night of the American Election.
“I went back to bed and my husband is on his phone and he was like
‘Trump has won’ so like many people we were very awake after that
moment and you know watching the TV and watching it and Edie didn’t
wake up until about eight in the morning at which point I think he
was giving his victory speech," she explained.
"I brought her into bed and she’s like this watching the television
completely silently and totally still for about four minutes and
she rolls over onto her back and she closes her eyes and she goes
‘F**k!’ I'm very proud," she laughed.
The mother-of-one, who shares Edie with her husband of three years,
musician James Righton, also shared her concern over how she'll
manage looking after her daughter on Christmas Day - at her
family's typically "drunken" Christmas.
But she revealed she's been training her little one to sit still
through a Sunday dinner in preparation for the big day, so that the
family can all sit around the same table.
'We’ve actually been testing out and making Sunday roasts to see if
she could sit at the table for long enough for the Christmas dinner
and all that keeps happening is she looks at the brussel sprouts
and she goes ‘Ball! Ball!” and she grabs them and lobs them at
you... it’s actually quite astonishing how much that hurts. So I’m
hoping that doesn’t happen on Christmas Day," Keira laughed.
